Abstract

The article considers the citizenship issue as a society's need. Nowadays citizens have  to face complicated social, economic and political situations. To prepare youth for these challenges teachers should apply  innovative approaches using integration of history and geography. Overall, a teacher has all tools needed for this mission.  Examples of the use of such interdisciplinary links are given.

We hope that the proposed recommendations will enable teachers to  connect civic society processes  of the past with the current ones, to raise students'  awareness about  Ukrainian national value.  It also allows deep learning in the citizenship aspect  through examples of someone's patriotic civic activity.
