Abstract

The Sciences teachers professional development in advanced training courses at In-Service Teachers Service Institutes are substantiated in the article. The  domestic scientists research on teachers' professional development is analyzed. The meaning of professional competence  specified in the Professional Standard draft "A Teacher of General Secondary Education'' and examples from the teachers training program are given in the article.  The need to improve the content and methodological support of the courses in institutions of postgraduate pedagogical education is actualized. It is noted that the Sciences teachers professional competence is currently one of the criteria for the education qualityIn spite of the variety of researchers' conceptual ideas the conditions for the teachers postgraduate professional  development is still insufficiently studied. It is necessary to study the levels of Sciences teachers' professional development and therefore to determine the advanced training courses themes.
