ACTIVITY OF THE PSYCHOLOGIST OF THE EDUCATION SYSTEM IN SOCIAL NETWORKS: ETHICAL DILEMMAS

Abstract

The article raises the issues of the psychologist professional ethics that are related to the conduct of a personal or official page of the group of the educational institution  in modern social networks. The authors reveal common ethical dilemmas that arise when filling the profile content. Such dilemmas include: the dilemma of boundaries, the dilemma of responsibility, the dilemma of competence, the dilemma of roles. They note the facts of violation of the ethical principles of psychological activity in solving ethical dilemmas through the choice of erroneous behavioral actions. Such actions include: neglect of the network specifics in social interaction; non-compliance with high standards of confidentiality; violation of the boundaries of professional competence in limiting the learned procedures and actions; leveling the social role of the psychologist or mixing roles. The study outlines a general ethical framework to preserve the environmental impact of the professional psychologists community on social network users. The ethical framework of the specialist's network behavior includes concern for the observance of ethical principles and norms that determine the safety of the relationship between the psychologist and his subscribers in modern social networks. It also concerns  the environmental friendliness of his personal page content in social networks and the page of the educational institution to which he is involved; concern for continuous professional development and raising the overall level of media literacy; concern for proper reflection on the ethics of the social activity of the psychologist of the educational system on the Internet.
