IMPROVEMENT OF STATE LANGUAGE COMPETENCE EMPLOYEES OF THE MYKOLAIV REGIONAL INSTITUTE OF POST-GRADUATE PEDAGOGICAL EDUCATION

This practice-oriented article focuses on improving the competence of scientific-pedagogical and pedagogical workers at the In-Service Teachers Training Institute during 2020–2021, with an emphasis on subject and teaching aspects. The article examines the definition of state language competence, including its components such as language and speech competence, as well as Ukrainian language stability. Additionally, the article characterizes the traditional and innovative types of pedagogical interaction used to improve the Ukrainian language skills of educators in the Mykolaiv Oblast, such as teaching-competence and activity-oriented variable modules, certified and general cultural events that promote a quality Ukrainian-speaking environment, provision of individual and group professional consultations, online consultations, development of video recommendations, self-education with training manuals, booklets, and visualized materials/infographics titled 'Volody in Ukrainian,' and the involvement of teachers in active professional communication through virtual resources. The article analyzes the certified event «State language competence of a modern educator» that aims to improve the Ukrainian language fluency of employees at the Mykolaiv In-Service Teachers Training Institute. The training cycle is an effective way to learn the Ukrainian language as part of the innovative project of the Department of Language, Literature and Art Education, titled «The State Language as the Spirit, Weapon and Intellect of Mykolaiv Oblast Teachers».The author proposes a lesson on «Accentological norms of the modern Ukrainian language» as a component of the certified event. The training adopts a competency-based approach to learning the state language, which helps develop skills and abilities in using professional and general pedagogical vocabulary with correct emphasis and forming a high-quality Ukrainian-speaking environment in the educational space of Mykolaiv Oblast.
