THE CREATIVITY OF TARAS SHEVCHENKO IN INTELLECTUAL UNDERSTANDING: FROM CULTURAL IMAGINATIONS TO MYTHS AND STEREOTYPES

The article is devoted to the creativity of T. H. Shevchenko. The influence of the dominant myths and stereotypes that determined the life and creative ways of the artist is obvious. The differences and commonalities in the understanding of a «myth» and a «stereotype» are proven within the article. Through critical analysis and the scientists’ understanding, new vectors for their definitions have been revealed. The author has presented their own insight into the term «social myth» in the literary and social dimensions. It has also been highlighted the methods of artistic word analysis, in particular the context study, empowering immunity against manipulative influences. The influence of A. Mickiewicz on T. H. Shevchenko’s creative experience and the formation of the author’s vision of the world have been overviewed. The image of a kobzar in the poem «Perebendia», as well as the social and artistic reality of Koliivshchyna and its social and historic background, have been interpreted. The author of the article pointed out the scientific discourse of the Haydamakys’ images and their actions during the rebellion depiction. The understanding of the writer’s faith as the highest token of love and justice has been substantiated, too. The religious direction of the creativity of the poet and his immanence in the knowledge of the world have been proven. In the textual and worldview aspects, it has been revealed that the idea of universal brotherly kindness is a myth in Kobzar’s works. The intellectual reception of myths and stereotypes through T. H. Shevchenko’s creativity prism has been given for the first time, in which the idea of dominance lies in the conception that personality cult prevents from perceiving the artist and his achievements. The article highlights contradictions between conventional literary views, social codes, and new receptions that appear while reading the poems of T. H. Shevchenko. The research focuses on the understanding of the creative input of the writer within the literary and social directions. The article deals with the uniqueness and originality of the creative personality.
