The proposed article is a continuation of a series of articles that deal with the problems of bibliotherapeutic reading as a tool for teacher's psychological self-help.
After considering the specifics of the bibliotherapeutic potential of literary works, it became necessary to clarify the bibliotherapeutic influence of this specific genre, since it determines the value of a literary work as a source for bibliotherapeutic reading. Partially, this issue was considered in the previous article, posted in the journal «Veresen», so in this article we suggest to focus on the influence of the literary genre originality. Ahe genre features of any literary work are extremely significant for reader's per and, accordingly, for its bibliotherapeutic potential. The article proposes a way to identify the bibliotherapeutic potential of a fairy tale, which is the most famous genre of Ukrainian and world literature. This genre is selected due to the developmental role of fairy tales in Ukrainian and world literature, the influence. The concept of «bibliotherapeutic potential of a literary work» is updated. The difference between literary fairy tales and folk tales are clarified. In the context of the topic, the well-known fairy tales by Ivan Franko and Hans Christian Andersen are analyzed.
